12756  Harmonica for Beginners

A six-week course for anyone from music first­timer to professional who wants to add harmonica to his/her gig bag. Careful attention is paid to proper technique. A listening-survey of the great blues, jazz, pop and orchestral harmonica players is included, as well as some study of the history, design, and repair of the instrument. Instructor has been a professional piano player and teacher for many years, and began playing harmonica as a child. Course-materials fee of $10 for CDs and instruction sheets is payable to instructor. Optional $5 harmonica can be purchased from the instructor. This course is for beginning harmonica players only.

Even if you have never played with others, you will play in this classroom band which covers basic blues, rock, and country. Requirements: guitar and keyboard players need to know basic chords. Bass players, harmonica players, and drummers need to be able to play at a basic level. Singers welcome. Instructor is a professional musician who will teach you accompaniment and solo playing. You will also be instructed in the use of sound and lighting systems. ($10 materials fee for practice-CDs and instruction sheets.)

A non-denominational focus on mastery of universal principles of living with a view to creating more peace, love, and happiness in our lives. The course will focus on a different topic each week such as learning techniques for deepening our awareness of the present moment, management of our negative emotions, the role of music and nature, how to fit meditation into our busy lives, and much more. Includes readings, recordings, guided meditations, and discussion.
